Research Projects
Information research can be a difficult step in any project. But, unfortunately, even with the most fictional of novels, some research is often necessary—having the correct area climate and weather, for example, appropriate local names, and the right geographic features will all add believability to your story. Of course, if you are working on nonfiction material, the research may never end!
- If you don’t know how or where to start research
on your project or - If you get caught up in other chores and cannot
complete your research or - If you cannot get to a collection or an archive you
want to visit,
let me know. I’ll try to help you out. Fortunately, you’ve found a research service that is available to assist you—whether you’re looking for an online Internet researcher or someone who is willing (and able) to perform good, old-fashioned library or archival research on foot.
I usually divide research projects into these three basic categories:
- Preparation Research
- Fact / Note / Bibliography Checking
- Annotated Bibliographies
I describe each of these types of research projects in more detail on the linked page.
